Have you noticed that you’ve stopped seeing some of your friends’ posts in your Facebook Newsfeed?

Well, there’s a reason for that…

Facebook’s algorithm is programmed to determine which of your friends’ posts (in the algorithm’s opinion of course) are worthy of landing in your Newsfeed.

It makes that determination based upon which friends you interact with the most by liking, sharing and commenting on their posts and photos.

The problem is, the algorithm’s assumptions about whose posts you’d rather see are often very poor.

Question from Gwen:  I installed a kid’s game on my iPhone that teaches the child how to do basic math in order to solve a series of mysteries.

The recommended age range for the game is 4 to 6.

My daughter turned 4 a couple of months ago so I believe she should be able to successfully play the game.

The thing is I don’t want her to be able to do anything with the phone except use this one app. Is it possible to set it up this way?

Question from Emily:  I just accepted a new job within my company that will require me to travel to various countries in South and Central America.

A couple of years ago I had a temporary (two week) assignment in Ecuador and Google insisted on displaying the search results in Spanish even when I typed my search query in English.

I read Spanish moderately well but it would benefit me greatly if I could always have Google display the results from my searches in English.
