Today’s quick tech tip….

How to keep other windows from hiding the Task Manager

If you’ve ever tried to follow instructions for doing something with the Windows Task Manager you probably got frustrated by the way the window containing the instructions kept hiding the Task Manager from view every time you returned to that window to read the next step.

Well, you can put an end to that by changing a simple setting that will force the Task Manager to remain in view at all times while it’s open. Here’s how to do it:

1 – Right-click on the Start button, then select Task Manager from the menu.

2 – Select Options from the Task Manager’s top menu.

3 – Select Always on top (a check mark should appear to let you know this option has been enabled).

That’s all there is to it. From now on the Task Manager will always remain in view even when you click on a different window.

Note: You can always click the very top of the Task Manager window and drag it to an unused location on the screen to prevent it from hiding the other window(s) you need to work with.
