Today’s quick tech tip….

Q&A: How do I import bookmarks from Chrome into Edge

Question from Blake:  I recently switched to Microsoft Edge as my browser choice after many years of preferring Google Chrome. Unfortunately, Chrome no longer meets my needs/expectations.

Can I import all of my Chrome bookmarks into the bookmarks list of Microsoft Edge without adding them all manually?

Rick’s answer:  You sure can, Blake. All it takes is a few mouse clicks.

Click here to watch a short video that shows how to copy your bookmarks over from Chrome into Edge, step-by-step.

If you prefer following written instructions, here you go:

1 – Open your Chrome browser and click the three dots in the top-right corner of the Chrome window.

2 – Click Favorites. You should now see the Favorites dialog on the screen.

3 – Click the three dots at the top of the Favorites dialog, then select Import favorites from the drop-down menu.

4 – Find the “Import data from Google Chrome” section and click the Import button on the right-hand side of that line. You should now see an “Import browser data” dialog on the screen.

5 – Check the box beside “Favorites or bookmarks” as well as any of the other data types you wish to import.

6 – Scroll down and click the Import button.

That’s all there is to it. When the import process is complete you should have all of the bookmarks and other data that you selected copied over from your Chrome browser to Edge.
