Q&A: Will Two-Factor Authentication lock me out of my accounts when I change phones?

Posted on November 1, 2021

Question from Kimberly:  I have Two-Factor Authentication enabled on several of my accounts.

I’m getting ready to buy a new phone in a few days and I’m afraid I’ll have problems when I try to log into those accounts after I switch phones.

What I’m asking is will having Two-Factor Authentication enabled on my accounts cause me to get locked out of them when I replace my phone?

How to view all the devices that are using your WiFi network

Posted on October 30, 2021

Do you suspect that someone might be using your WiFi network without your knowledge and permission?

If they are, you really need to know about it so you can boot them off and lock down your network ASAP!

“Piggy-backers” can slow down your network and make your devices appear sluggish and unstable.

Even worse, they could potentially cause you some pretty serious legal problems if they’re using your network to break the law in some way.  [Read more…]

Q&A: How do I remove the PIN from my Android phone?

Posted on October 18, 2021

Question from Angie:  I started dating a guy a few months ago. I really liked him but he had an annoying habit of picking up my phone and looking at my called logs.

I think he was checking up on me to see if I was calling other guys. I didn’t like him spying on me that way and I told him so, but he kept on doing it.

I finally put a PIN on my phone so he wouldn’t be able to get into it.

We recently broke up so I no longer need the PIN. The problem is it won’t let me remove it (that option is grayed out).

What do I need to do to remove the PIN from my phone? [Read more…]

Well, here’s a bonus tip that will make your battery last even longer. All you have to do is change your phone’s wallpaper to one that’s solid black!

You’re probably wondering why using a black background can save battery life, and that’s a good question. And the answer is really pretty simple: The brighter the screen, the more current the battery must supply to keep it lit up.

Bottom line: Changing from a light colored background to a solid black one allows your phone to operate with less current being drawn from the battery.

Switching your phone to a solid black wallpaper is easy. Here’s how:  [Read more…]

How to move Safari’s Address Bar back to the top in iOS 15

Posted on October 11, 2021

If you have already updated your iPhone to iOS 15 you’ve probably noticed a few changes in the way your phone and apps look and work.

One change that I’ve received a lot of negative feedback about is how Apple has moved Safari’s Address Bar from the top of the screen to the bottom.
