Once again this very dangerous scam is making the rounds on Facebook and via email.

What makes this scam so dangerous is the way it appears to come from Facebook themselves.

If you use Facebook you’ve probably started seeing ads that appear to be from Lowe’s Home Improvement offering to sell lawnmowers at ridiculously low prices.

I’m talking lawnmowers that sell for as much as $800 being sold on “clearance” or via a “Flash sale” for $99.

As you probably know, PayPal users have always been a top target of scammers. There’s a dangerous new (and very convincing) PayPal related scam making the rounds right now that could be landing in your email inbox at any minute.

Most PayPal related scams are phishing attempts designed to trick you into handing over your PayPal login info (and therefore access to your account), but this one is a bit different because it’s trying to trick you into handing over your personal and banking info directly.  [Read more…]

An old, but dangerous scam that targets Apple customers recently started making the rounds once again.

As usual, there are several variations of the scam, but they all work something like this…

You receive a text message or social media IM stating that your Apple ID has been disabled due to an “unusual sign-in attempt” or some other pretext.

The scammers just never seem to take a break from Facebook, and one of the most enticing scams of them all is making the rounds yet again.

It’s basically just a variation of the old “Free Gift Card” scam that pretty much stays viral on Facebook.
