Q&A: Can I login to Windows 11 without having to enter a password?

Posted on January 6, 2022

Question from Ronald:  I recently bought my first computer with Windows 11 on it.

I guess it’s ok overall but there are a few things that irritate me, one of which is how it forces me to enter a password every time I turn on the computer.

I don’t really need a password because I live alone and I’m the only person who has access to this computer.

Is it possible to make Windows 11 boot straight to the Desktop without needing to enter a password? [Read more…]

Question from Cecille:  My son is wanting a gaming computer for his birthday. The one he has been looking at is over $900.

I mentioned this to my friend and she suggested that I look into something called Cloud Gaming that lets the person play games without having to buy an expensive gaming computer.

Question from Carl:  I own a small business that employs three people, which means there are 4 of us working in our office on a daily basis.

Due to the nature of our business, the four of us find ourselves updating a common set of files while we’re working.

I’m wondering if you have a recommendation for the best way for us to store and share those commonly accessed files?  [Read more…]

Question from Pam:  Rick, I have recently gotten a new iPhone so I’m giving my old iPhone 11 to a friend.

I have wiped it clean, so I am good there. But now the battery is not staying charged much at all.

I’ve heard that you have to take an iPhone to the Apple store to have the battery changed, or they would give you a new phone.

Well, with my experience I’m pretty sure I can change it myself if I order a battery, and it’ll be cheaper too.

With your knowledge, do you think I should to take this phone to an Apple store to have the battery changed, or can I do it myself? [Read more…]

Q&A: How can I delete a file on my Mac without it going into the Trash Can?

Posted on December 28, 2021

Question from Lamar:  I recently bought my first Mac, and I really like it.

So far I’m adjusting to the differences between Windows and MacOS pretty well, but one thing is really bugging me.

In Windows I can hold down the Shift key and delete a file without it going into the Recycle Bin, but I can’t figure out how to do it on my Mac.

How do I delete a file in MacOS without it going into the Trash Can?  [Read more…]
