Today’s featured tech tip….

How to find out how much of your phone’s storage is being used

Are you concerned that your smartphone might be running low on free storage space?

It’s quite easy to check to see how much of your phone’s storage is currently being used and how much free space is still available. Just follow the steps below for your device type…

Note: The steps listed below for both iPhones and Androids might vary just a bit depending on the version of the operating system that’s currently installed on your phone. Therefore, you should use these directions as a general guide.

If you have an iPhone:

1 – Tap the “gear” shaped Settings icon.

2 – Tap General.

3 – Tap iPhone Storage. You should now see a status bar showing the amount of storage that’s currently being used.

4 – Subtract the amount that’s being used from the total amount of storage that’s in your phone to get the amount that’s still free and available for use.

You also have the option of following some of the recommendations on that screen to free up some of the space that’s in use.

If you have an Android phone:

1 – Tap the “gear” shaped Settings icon.

2 – Tap Storage. You should now see a status bar showing the amount of storage that’s currently being used.

3 – Subtract the amount that’s being used from the total amount of storage that’s in your phone to get the amount that’s still free and available for use.

You also have the option of tapping the Free up space button and then following the Cleaning suggestions to free up some of the space that’s in use.

Rick’s Daily Pick…

Primy Office Ergonomic Desk Chair

If you spend more than a few minutes each day sitting at a computer, a really good office chair can help keep both your back and your posture in tip-top shape.

This is the one I’ve been using for a good while now, and I really like it.

Today’s post from ‘My Daily Smile’…

The awesome value of time

Truth be told, it’s one of the most valuable possessions you’ll ever have.

Tech news that caught my eye…

• Hands-free driving is becoming more popular – but is it safe?

• New AI systems collide with copyright law

• iPhone 15 Pro to feature thinner bezels, a titanium frame and USB-C charging

• Windows 11 is about to get a lot better on multi-monitor setups

• Health data of up to 11 million accessed by hackers in MOVEit breach

Wondering how you can help me keep doing what I’m doing?

1 – If you’d like to help support my work, you can do so by leaving me a tip.

Every penny of your tip will go towards my blog’s web hosting and other related fees, which are substantial.

2 – You can Forward this email to a friend along with a short note of recommendation. (Just click the “Forward” button or link.)

Rest assured that anything you can do to help me keep helping folks will be greatly appreciated.
