Today’s featured tech tip….

Who is actually selling that item on Amazon?

If you do a lot of shopping on Amazon you already know how easy and convenient it is. There’s simply no online shopping experience that compares to it in my humble opinion.

But did you know other sellers besides just Amazon hawk their wares on the Amazon website and app?

When you browse the listings or search for something on Amazon you’ll see three different types of sales being offered:

1 – Sold by Amazon – Ships from Amazon

These are items that Amazon itself has purchased and stored in its own warehouses. Customers then purchase the items directly from Amazon and Amazon ships the items directly to the customers.

2 – Sold by [third party seller] – Ships from Amazon

These items are owned by the third party seller, not Amazon. However, the seller has shipped a number of the items to Amazon for storage in their warehouses.

When customers purchase one of these items Amazon collects the money from the buyer and hands it over to the actual seller (minus seller fees of course). Amazon then ships the items from their warehouse directly to the customers on the seller’s behalf.

In these situations Amazon is basically a “middle-man” who facilitates the transaction and shipping on behalf of the actual seller.

3 – Sold by [third party seller] – Ships from [third party seller]

These items are owned by a third party seller who also ships items that are sold directly to the customers. Amazon personnel never touch these items at all and they are never stored in an Amazon warehouse.

With this type of sale Amazon simply collects the money from the buyer and sends it to the seller (again, minus seller fees). That’s basically the end of Amazon’s involvement in the sale.

As you might imagine, the first type of sale is the safest since the only entity you’re dealing with in any way is Amazon. If something goes wrong with the sale Amazon will handle the issue directly.

You can easily determine which type of sale an item is being offered with by looking under the “Add to Cart” and “Buy Now” buttons over in the right-hand pane. You’ll see the “Sold by” and “Ships From” info listed there.

Rick’s Daily Pick…

Secrui Waterproof Wireless 2-Button Doorbell

Looking for a doorbell that works great and is easy to install? Well, you can install this one in 5 minutes or less.

Simply fasten the buttons to your front and/or back doorjam with the included double-sided tape or screws then plug the receiver (the actual bell unit) into a convenient electrical outlet inside your home. It really is that simple.

Note: You don’t have to use both buttons. The bell works great with just one if you only need a button at one door.

Today’s post from ‘My Daily Smile’…

It’s time to chart the remainder of your path.
