A while back I published a “Quick Tip” in this issue of my Rick’s Tech Tips Newsletter explaining how to set Firefox to always launch with the previously-used tabs open.
That tip prompted quite a bit of feedback from folks wondering if you can do the same thing with the Edge and Chrome browsers.

If you’ve been using a computer to browse the Internet for a while you’ve probably accumulated several browser bookmarks (aka favorites) that take you to a favorite web page with a single click.
For example, there are about 30 pages that I visit on a regular basis and I have them all bookmarked in my favorite web browsers.
Not all pages are bookmarked in every browser however because some pages simply look and respond better in one specific browser.
I also tend to change computers fairly often, and if I had to re-bookmark all those pages every time it would be a major hassle and a serious time waster.

Question from Jamie: For the most part I like how Firefox blocks pop-ups but there’s one site that I really love that opens every link you click in a pop-up window.
Is there any way to allow pop-ups on this one site but keep the pop-up blocker enabled on other sites? [Read more…]

Question from Marcus: I know that some websites can see my location when I visit them with Chrome.
I know there are some sites that need to see my location (like Google Maps, for instance) but I’d rather keep my location hidden from the ones that don’t.
Is there a way to see which sites can see my location?
Also, is there a way to stop the ones that don’t need access to my location from seeing it? [Read more…]
