Q&A: Is AdChoices malware?

Question from Kenny:  This morning I noticed that my favorite website has started showing videos from something called AdChoices, and I find them really annoying.

They were never there before today so I’m wondering if they’re supposed to be.

My question: Is AdChoices a malware infection? I’ve scanned my system with both Norton and Malwarebytes but they didn’t find anything.

Review: 10DollarSoloAds (email advertising service)

If you’re a blogger you’re probably always on the lookout for opportunities to boost your blog traffic.

After all, more traffic results in more conversions (sales, advertising revenue, email signups, etc.), right?

Well, I recently began researching ways to boost the traffic to RicksDailyTips as well, and one of the tools I stumbled across is a service called 10DollarSoloAds.

As a blogger I’m always on the lookout for new ways to attract more visitors to my blogs.

A while back I tested and reviewed a newsletter advertising service called 10DollarSoloAds and the results were quite poor (and that’s probably an understatement).

Even though that initiative turned out to be a bust, I’m an optimist at heart and not one to give up so I checked some of the blogger forums I participate in and uncovered a recommendation for a service called Click Action Traffic.

The recommendation sounded good so I decided to visit the site to find out exactly what they were offering.

If you have a Smart TV, get ready to see targeted ads like the ones that follow you around the web.

Have you ever looked at an item on an online shopping site and then seen an ad for the very same item show up on the next website you visited?

Or perhaps you’ve done a web search on a topic only to see ads for items related to that topic follow you around the web from site to site?

Those creepy “follow me around” ads are officially called “targeted ads”, and they’re extremely effective at getting people to buy the products they’re hawking.
