Do you allow your web browser to store the passwords to your online accounts?
I realize that stored passwords make using the Internet a lot easier, but truth be told it’s a very dangerous practice.

Password managers are quite popular these days, and Dashlane is one of the most-used providers of that service on the web.
Well, the folks at Dashlane have just published a new blog post about a great sounding initiative they’ve developed called “Project Mirror: Kill the Password”.

I receive frantic messages on a regular basis from folks asking for help getting back into their Facebook accounts because they have somehow gotten locked out of them.
Sometimes I’m able to help them reset their password and log back in with no problems, but all too often a simple password reset doesn’t work for them.
And sadly, in situations like this Facebook’s “Account Recovery” tools can be pretty close to useless. [Read more…]

Question from Louise: I’m in serious trouble Rick, and I need your help ASAP.
Almost two weeks ago I heard my brother was in a car wreck and he wasn’t expected to live.
I grabbed a few things and threw them in a suitcase and flew out to Utah to try to see him before he passed away.
I didn’t make it in time to see him but I spent 5 days out there with my family and came back home the day after the funeral.
When I got home I saw that my house had been broken into and ransacked. They took almost everything of value including both of my computers and my iPad.
