Lenovo promises to start releasing new PCs without ANY adware or bloatware

Posted on March 2, 2015

lenovo-logoLast week I wrote about the incredible Lenovo Superfish fiasco, and it appears that the company just might have learned a valuable lesson from the incredible backlash they received from it.

The folks at Lenovo have released a statement explaining how customer security and privacy are among the company’s top priorities (Really? Could have fooled me!)  [Read more…]

Q&A: How do I join a Facebook group while I’m signed into my business page?

Posted on March 1, 2015

facebook-logoQuestion from Ella:  I’m a member of over a dozen Facebook groups that I joined using my personal Facebook account. I also have a business page that I use to promote my poetry blog.

Follow these steps to check if you’re running the latest version of Firefox:  [Read more…]

How to display the Task Bar at any time in Windows 8/8.1

Posted on February 27, 2015

windows-8-1In Windows 7 (and earlier versions of Windows) it was easy to see which programs were running and access all the active notification icons. All you had to do was glance at the Task Bar.

But while the Task Bar is still alive and well in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, it is usually hidden when viewing the Start Screen or while running a modern app. And it also tends to stay hidden when you move the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen.  [Read more…]
