Q&A: How do I get the File Explorer ‘Ribbon’ back in Windows 10?

Posted on November 30, 2016

Windows-10-logoQuestion from Jacinda P.:  The other night I was typing away when the File Explorer window popped into view. I closed it and thought nothing of it at the time.

The problem is I must have hit something to make the Ribbon disappear in File Explorer because it’s been gone ever since that night. I feel like such a dummy!

I use the ribbon a lot and I really miss it. Can you tell me how to get it back? My computer is an Acer All-In-One with Windows 10.

Q&A: Who’s the best web host for a WordPress blog?

Posted on November 29, 2016

wordpress-logoQuestion from Elaine H.:  Rick, I’ve been writing a blog on the topic of women’s health and wellness for almost 3 years and it seems like it’s going absolutely nowhere.

I did some research and I’ve learned that switching my blog from Blogger.com to WordPress will make it easier to grow my blog.

I know that you write several popular WordPress blogs and I was wondering if you can recommend a good web host to move my blog to?

If so, I’ve been testing a nifty free download called Project Mercury that could help speed things up for you.

RicksDailyTips Newsletter for Nov. 24, 2016 – Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted on November 24, 2016

Hello my friend. I hope you had a great week!

I am very thankful for the many wonderful things that I have been blessed with in my life, and my wonderful friends are right at the top of that list. And I truly consider you, my faithful reader and subscriber, to be my friend.

On this very special day I want each and every one of you to know how thankful I am that you read my RicksDailyTips Tech Blog and subscribe to my newsletter.

I strive daily to give you information that’s actually informative and useful. I know from your feedback that I often achieve that goal. I also know that I miss the mark on occasion.

Without your patronage and friendship I wouldn’t be able to continue sharing the things I’ve learned from my years in the tech business via this blog and newsletter. And I love doing that because I love helping people when I can, even if it’s just by a tiny bit.

In summary, you are not just another email address in a database or just another “hit” on my blog. To me, you are a friend. I appreciate you and your friendship more than you can know.

Special note: I won’t be sending out a newsletter on Saturday as usual. I’ll be spending the weekend with family and friends, and I hope you’ll be able to do the same.

Thanks again, and Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

newsletterHello again everyone. I hope you all had a great week!

With Thanksgiving now less than a week away, many folks are getting ready to turn their attention to Christmas.

As always, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the weekend in between will be huge shopping days.
