10Gbps Internet service could soon be available where you live. Yes, really.

Posted on January 29, 2021

Back in September 2020 I wrote about how SpaceX’s Starlink satellite Internet service would soon be providing 1Gbps download speeds to anyone on planet Earth.

Well, according to this recent notice to the FCC SpaceX has now raised their goal from the first-promised 1Gbps download speed (which itself would be absolutely amazing for satellite Internet) to a mind-boggling 10Gbps!

Q&A: Do I need to disable ‘Off-Facebook Activity’ on Facebook?

Posted on January 26, 2021

Question from Terry:  Rick, you’re the one I trust to suggest what to do about this “Off-Facebook Activity” that is in the Facebook settings.

Lots of people have said turn it off and clear its history so we won’t be tracked.

Is there anything to this? And mainly, do we need to turn off this feature?

Q&A: Why did Google remove the word ‘Secure’ from Chrome’s address bar?

Posted on January 13, 2021

Question from Mike:  Chrome used to display the word “Secure” in the address bar to indicate that the webpage you’re viewing is encrypted.

I really liked that because I didn’t have to worry about hackers stealing my info if I typed anything into a form on that page.

A while back I noticed that Google has removed that “Secure” indicator from Chrome’s address bar.

Why on earth did they get rid of it?
