Tips for taking great portraits without expensive photography gear

Many of the world’s most renowned portrait photographers use top-of-the-line cameras, multiple expensive lenses and tons of lighting gear during their photo sessions.

But the truth is great portraits can easily be taken with nothing more than an inexpensive DSLR, a single lens, and a simple reflector.

The secret to great portrait photography lies in knowing how to shoot great portraits, not spending thousands of dollars on expensive, complicated gear. 

The short video below offers a number of powerful tips for shooting awesome portraits. The instructor uses just one camera (an inexpensive consumer-grade Nikon) equipped with a single 85mm prime lens.
