How to listen to your favorite ‘Talk Radio’ show over the Internet

Posted on September 3, 2017

talkstreamlive-logoDo you always seem to miss the local broadcast of your favorite “Talk Radio” show due to work, school or some other scheduling conflict?

Did your local talk radio station drop your favorite show, making it impossible to listen to it in your local area?

Well, now there’s an easy way to listen to your favorite talk radio personality at most any time of the day, regardless of where you might happen to live. All you need is an Internet connection!

A fantastic service called TalkStreamLive.com gives you free access to dozens of talk radio shows, and many of them are available at most any time during the day and night.

The home page lists the hosts whose programs are currently being broadcast. Simply click on the host of your choice and select a station, and then start listening.

If you don’t see your favorite show listed on the home page, you can type the host’s name into the search box. If that host’s show has a stream listed with TalkStreamLive, you’ll be given information about that show’s next upcoming stream.

As you might expect, most all of the talk radio hosts that have national followings can be heard via TalkStreamLive, as can many of the more popular regional hosts.

And now, a couple of caveats that I need to mention:

1 – Although the service works quite well, I occasionally have trouble getting certain streams to play correctly. But with the most popular shows streaming from multiple stations, I can almost always quickly find a working stream.

2 – Shows that lean towards the conservative end of the political spectrum greatly outnumber their liberal counterparts. That’s simply a reality in the talk radio world, not an editorial choice of the service. For whatever reason, conservative talk radio programs simply outnumber liberal programs by a wide margin.

Bottom line: Thanks to TalkStreamLive.com, you can listen to your favorite talk radio programs right on your computer or mobile device even if they aren’t broadcast on a local station in your area.

Bonus tip: This post explains how to convert an unused smartphone into an emergency radio scanner simply by installing a free app.
