Did you know Google is an excellent ‘site search’ tool?

You’ve probably noticed that the built-in search tools on most websites often do a horrible job at helping you find the exact content you’re looking for on those sites.

For example, if you make even the slightest of a misspelling of a single word in your search term, the search will usually come up empty.

What’s more, most site search tools won’t suggest posts/pages from the site that are closely related to, but slightly different from the actual search term.

Google excels in situations like those, and that’s why I almost always use Google instead of a website’s native search tool.

How to (possibly) identify the sender of an anonymous email

Have you ever received an email from someone that seems to know you personally, but the sender’s name is nowhere to be found in the email?

It happens to me fairly often, and I’ve discovered a way to quickly determine the sender’s identity in at least some of those cases.

Q&A: How do I change the default search engine in Chrome?

Question from Mona:  My 20 year old son came in to visit me for the weekend and he borrowed my computer while he was here.

After he left I noticed that the default search engine in my Chrome browser had been changed from Google to Bing.

I really prefer Google so I’d appreciate it a bunch if you can tell me how to switch it back. What do I need to do?  [Read more…]
