Question from Michael Y.:  I recently moved and in the process I lost the power supply for my Xbox One game console.

I need to buy a replacement power supply but I don’t know where to get one.

Can you tell me who sells them?

Rick’s answer:  Michael, there are actually a number of places where you can buy a third-party replacement power supply for your Xbox One.

The thing is many of them are cheap, low-quality knock-offs that could end up damaging your expensive Xbox One machine.

The easiest way to ensure that you buy a good one is to check the various online user reviews and ratings. That’s why I recommend checking out the great selection at Amazon first. You’ll be able to easily compare prices and user ratings between dozens of brands and models.

Bestbuy.com actually had a couple of Xbox One “Play and Charge Kits” when I checked, but my local Best Buy store told me they don’t sell replacement Xbox One power supplies of any kind when I called them.

Some local Gamestop stores have pre-owned (aka used) Xbox One power supplies in stock, as does the GameStop website.

Inventory of these used power supplies at GameStop is hit or miss as one might expect with a used item, and the price they charge for them seems a little steep to me considering you can buy new third-party Xbox One power supplies on Amazon for less.

Bottom line: Quality third-party power supplies for the Xbox One and good used OEM power supplies are indeed available, IF you know where to look for them. And now you do!

I hope this helps, Michael. Good luck!

Bonus tip: Did you know that you can play classic Atari games on your Xbox One? Well, you can. Read this post for more info.
