Q&A: Is there a way to boost the weak cellular signal in my home?

Posted on November 14, 2020

Question from Deneen L.:  My husband and I recently moved into a new home that’s located in a very hilly area.

We both have iPhones but the Sprint/TMobile signal inside the house is very weak.

We sprung for Xfinity Internet when we moved in, but we’d rather not have to install a landline phone if we can help it.

Is there any way we can boost the weak cellular signal to a usable level?

How to automatically add the same text before or after every post in WordPress

Posted on November 14, 2020

Have you ever visited a blog and noticed that every post has the same block of text before and/or after the post content?

For example, some bloggers include a message asking the reader to subscribe to an email newsletter or share the post they are reading on social media sites.

If you have a block of text that you’d like to display before and/or after the content of each blog post, all you have to do is edit your WordPress theme’s functions.php file and add one or both of the following code snippets at the bottom. This post will tell you how to do that.  [Read more…]

Q&A: How can I move my PC’s Taskbar back to the bottom of the screen?

Posted on November 13, 2020

Question from Ervin S.:  Last night my son was using my computer (Acer All-in-One Desktop with Windows 10) to play a game on his school’s website.

At some point something must have went wrong because when I turned the computer on this morning I noticed that the taskbar had somehow been moved to the left side of the screen.

I tried to move the task bar back to the bottom of the screen but it won’t move. It’s like it’s stuck on the left-hand side. Can you tell me how to get it back on the bottom where it belongs?

Q&A: Is it true that the new MacBooks can’t be upgraded?

Posted on November 13, 2020

Question from Damon G:  My old MacBook Pro has been in dire need of being replaced for some time now so I’ve really been looking forward to the release of the newest model.

The thing is I’ve heard that the new MacBook Pro won’t be upgradeable. Is that really the case?

I love my Apple devices but I’m not too keen on laying out buku dollars for a machine that can never be upgraded when the times comes that it needs it (and it always does).

Q&A: How can I force Facebook’s mobile site to load on my Windows tablet?

Posted on November 12, 2020

Question from Patti T.: My son bought a Surface Pro and he gave me his old Vido 10 inch Windows tablet. It works great except for one really irritating problem.

When I load Facebook in the Chrome browser everything looks so small it’s hard to read it, and it’s even harder to tap on links and stuff.

Someone told me that I can load the mobile Facebook site to make everything easier to use but I can’t figure out how to the mobile version to load. It keeps loading the full website no matter what I do.

Can you tell me what I need to do to load the mobile Facebook site?
