Don’t like the centered Taskbar in Windows 11? Move it.

Posted on June 30, 2024

It’s clear that for the most part Windows 11 is simply Windows 10 with a fresh new coat of paint.

While I actually like a few of the minor changes Microsoft has made with the new Windows 11 interface, there is one that I really dislike: the centered Taskbar and Start button.

Protect your PC from hackers by disabling remote assistance

Posted on June 29, 2024

Both Windows 10 and Windows 11 have a very useful feature that allows someone else to remotely take control of your PC in order to fix a problem for you.

This tool has helped countless PC users get their computer issues resolved quickly and efficiently without having to send their PCs back to the manufacturer or haul them to a repair shop.

Unfortunately, hackers can also use this feature to take control of computers located half-way around the world in order to install malware and steal personal information such as credit card or bank account numbers. [Read more…]

Q&A: How do I bypass the 5000 friend limit on Facebook?

Posted on June 28, 2024

Question from Alex:  I’m a singer/musician who has a large semi-local following in my city and the surrounding areas.

I created a Facebook page and tried to use it to let my fans know about my upcoming gigs, but I recently found out that Facebook only shows my posts to a just a small percentage of my 8,000+ followers.

I’ve found that I do a lot better when I post the dates on my personal Facebook Timeline.

Can you tell me how to bypass the 5,000 friend limit on a personal account? [Read more…]

That sounds awesome, and most of the time it is. However, Autocorrect doesn’t always do the best job at fixing your typos.  [Read more…]

That’s why it’s so important to always have a high-quality data recovery tool at your disposal.

I recently had the opportunity to test and evaluate Stellar Data Recovery Professional, one of the most popular and highly-rated data recovery solutions that’s available today.  [Read more…]

APC 600VA UPS / Battery Backup & Surge Protector

I’ve been using three of these gems for years and they have served me quite well. If it seems like I recommend them over and over, it’s because I do.

When I find something that’s truly worth the money and does what the company says it will do I feel I have an obligation to tell my friends about it.

Don’t let an unstable power grid or power surge damage or destroy your expensive computer and other gadgets. This will protect against sudden power-downs and current surges while also keeping your computer powered up long enough to save your open files and perform an orderly shutdown.
