If so, you should know that Microsoft has made it extremely difficult to avoid having your current Windows installation automatically updated to Windows 10, whether you want to install the upgrade or not.
Luckily, several solutions for preventing this automatic upgrade to Windows 10 have been released. In fact, I have already written a post about a fantastic Windows 10 upgrade blocking tool called GWX Control Panel.
While GWX Control Panel works quite well, it requires the user to take several steps when running the program to ensure that future attempts to automatically upgrade a PC to Windows 10 will be thwarted. What’s worse, if you happen to miss a step, your PC won’t be protected against future automatic upgrades at all.
That’s why I was happy to learn about a new Windows 10 upgrade blocking tool from our friends at Gibson Research.
Never10 is a very simple utility that will block any future automatic Windows 10 upgrade attempts with just one or two mouse clicks.
It’s very easy to download and use Never10. Simply follow the steps below:
1 – Click here to visit the Never10 download page, then click the green Download Now button.
2 – Click on the downloaded never10.exe file to launch the program.
Note: If you have trouble finding the downloaded file, simply press the Ctrl+J key combination to display the contents of your browser’s download folder.
3 – When launched, Never10 will check to make sure that your PC has the latest version of Windows Update installed. If it doesn’t, you’ll be prompted to install the update before proceeding. To do that, simply click the Install Update button.
If your computer already has the latest version of Windows Update installed you won’t see an “Install Update” button. In its place will be a button labeled “Disable Win10 Upgrade”. Simply click that Disable Win10 Upgrade button to block Windows Update from ever automatically installing Windows 10.
That’s all there is to it. Preventing your PC from automatically being updated from Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10 really is that easy thanks to the awesome Never10 utility from the folks over at Gibson Research.
Please consider sharing this post on Facebook and/or Twitter in order to help get the word out so your friends and associates can avoid having their PCs automatically updated to Windows 10. Thanks a bunch!
