Q&A: How can I keep my Facebook friends from being notified when I add a new friend?

Posted on September 15, 2019

Question from Dennis J.:  Hi Rick. I have a quick question about Facebook and I’m hoping you can answer it for me.

Is there any way to keep my Facebook friends from being notified when I add a new friend? Some of them get jealous when I add certain people.

If you can tell me how to prevent the new friend notifications from being sent out I’ll appreciate it more than you know.

Q&A: Why am I still missing some of your posts after joining your tech group on Facebook?

Posted on September 10, 2019

Question from Elaine:  Hi Rick. I’m hoping you can help me.

I joined your Rick’s Tech Tips group on Facebook a couple of months ago to make sure I didn’t miss any of your posts.

I just found out however that I’m not being notified every time you publish a new post (and I want to be!).

How can I fix this so I can see all of your posts?

Q&A: How can I view all the photos I’ve ever ‘Liked’ on Facebook?

Posted on September 2, 2019

Question from Angie L.:  I’m trying to find a specific photo of a family member that I liked on Facebook a couple of years back.

The problem is I can’t remember who posted the photo so I don’t know whose photos to look through.

I have lots of family members on Facebook so it would probably take forever to find it.

Do you know of a way to list all the pictures I’ve ever liked in one group so I can look through them and find that one photo that I’m looking for?

Q&A: How can I connect my new iPad Pro to my projector?

Posted on August 11, 2019

(#ad)

Question from Don H.:  For a while now I’ve been using an HP laptop and an Epson VS240 projector to display presentations to my Art History students.

The laptop’s hard drive died on me a few days ago and I don’t plan on having it replaced.

What I’d like to do is use my new iPad Pro and Apple’s Keynote presentation app to send video to the projector.

The problem is the projector has an HDMI port but the iPad Pro has a USB-C port.

Is there a simple way to connect the iPad Pro to my projector?

Q&A: Why does the light on my mouse stay lit when I shut down my computer?

Posted on August 9, 2019

Question from Kelly E.:  I just bought a new computer and there’s one thing about it that has me puzzled.

When I shut the computer down (not put it to sleep, but actually shut it down) the little light on the mouse stays lit.

Why is this happening? I’ve never seen it before. Is there some way to turn it off?
