Scam alert: The popular ‘Unseen’ browser extension has started spawning SPAM popups to ‘go.mobifoth.com’

Has your web browser started spawning popup windows that display a web page with the SPAM URL go.mobifoth.com?

If so, the culprit is likely the popular browser extension “Unseen”.

If you’re unfamiliar with this extension, you can read more about it in this post that I wrote a while back.

In a nutshell, “Unseen” is a previously benign browser extension that prevented your Facebook friends from knowing that you have read the messages they sent to you.

Well, just a few days ago the extension started redirecting users’ browsers to a SPAM website at the URL go.mobifoth.com.

I have no idea whether the change is the result of the extension being taken over by hackers or the developers moving over to the dark side, but either way the result is not good!

Bottom line: If your browser has been popping up a new window with that URL in it, check to see if you’re using the “Unseen” extension. If so, I recommend that you delete it from your browser ASAP. That should put a stop to the pop-ups.
