Microsoft has recalled the power cords for some Surface Pro devices

Posted on January 21, 2016

microsoft-logoDue to a potential over-heating issue, Microsoft has announced a voluntary recall of the power cords for some models of their popular Surface Pro devices.

The recall only applies to the power cords, not the Surface Pro devices themselves or their power supply “bricks”.

The models affected by the recall are the Surface Pro, the Surface Pro 2, and the Surface Pro 3, but only for units that were sold before March 15, 2015 in the U.S./Canada or before July 15, 2015 in other countries.

If you own one of the aforementioned Surface Pro models, you can visit this page on the Microsoft website for more information and to initiate a service order.
