Panasonic Toughbook CF-S 10 laptop battery recall

Posted on March 24, 2016

panasonic-toughbookcf-s-10-batteryIf you or someone you know owns a Panasonic Toughbook CF-S 10 laptop, the company might have just recalled its battery pack.

Apparently the defective batteries were contaminated with flammable materials during the manufacturing process, resulting in a potential fire hazard.

The batteries affected by this recall have the following designations:

  • Model number CF-VZSU61U or CF-VZSU61R
  • Manufacturing lot numbers that begin with either BAW, BBX, BC, C1 or C2

If you own a Panasonic Toughbook CF-S 10 laptop and its battery is marked with one of the above designations, this web page and this PDF file provide more details about the recall, including how to request a free replacement battery pack for your laptop.

I strongly recommend that you remove the recalled battery from your laptop immediately and run it via wall power until your replacement battery arrives.
