lenovo-logoIf you own a Lenovo laptop you should check ASAP to see if its power cord has been recalled.

The company has just announced a giant recall of approximately 500,000 Lenovo laptop power cords because they could possibly over-heat and catch fire.

This recall involves a broad range of laptop models that were manufactured between February and December 2011.

But be aware that that doesn’t mean you are automatically in the clear if you purchased your laptop after December 2011 since affected power cords were sold with laptops for a good long while after their manufacture date.

This page on the Lenovo website will help you quickly determine whether your laptop’s power cord is affected by the recall. I recommend that you check it out right away if you own a Lenovo laptop that was purchased at any time after November 2011.

If you discover that your power cord has been recalled, Lenovo recommends that you stop using the laptop immediately and contact them for a replacement power cord.
