Well, cold and flu season has arrived, and unfortunately it appears that Covid 19 is destined to hang around forever and rear its ugly head from time to time.
There are things you’re probably already doing to reduce your chances of catching a nasty virus such as being diligent about washing your hands, doing your best to avoid people who are obviously sick and taking supplements that boost your immune system, but did you know one of the easiest ways to expose yourself to viruses and other contaminants is by simply talking to someone on your phone?
If you think about it, your phone can easily be a conduit for germs to enter your body. How easy, you ask? Well, think about this…
You’re shopping for groceries at your local market when you see an item that sparks your interest.
You pick it up to read the label, but then your phone rings. You pull out the phone to see who’s calling, then place it back in your pocket with the intention of returning the call after you get home.
Well guess what? If someone who is infected with a virus happened to pick up that same item a short while before you did, the virus is now probably on your phone.
I’m sure you can see where this is leading. And the scenario mentioned above is just one way in a million that these nasty viruses can make their way onto your phone.
That, in a nutshell, is why it’s so important to disinfect your phone on a regular basis.
The thing is, using the wrong product to disinfect it can cause damage to the phone’s screen and other components.
Many common glass cleaners will break down and damage the protective coatings on your devices’ screens, and the damage might not always be apparent until it’s too late to stop it.
The safest effective way to disinfect any modern screen is to use pre-made disinfectant wipes that was formulated for that very purpose.
Unlike most general-purpose cleaning solutions, screen cleaning wipes use cleaning agents that aren’t harmful to screens and their delicate coatings.
Screen cleaning wipes are readily available at Amazon and most any local retailer. You can pick some up at Walmart the next time you pass by the Electronics department.
Bottom line: It’s very important to keep your smartphone clean and virus-free, but it’s also important to prevent damaging its screen by using the wrong cleaning products.
