3 fast and easy ways to switch user accounts in Windows 8.1

Posted on December 12, 2014

windows-8-1If more than one person uses your PC, you probably each have your own user account. If not, you really should! If you do, you might be wondering how to switch from one user account to another without having to reboot the computer every time.

It’s actually quite fast and easy to switch user accounts in Windows 8.1. Here are three ways to do it, depending on which screen you happen to be on at the time:

From anywhere within Windows

1 – Press the Ctrl+Alt+Del key combination.

2 – Click Switch User.

3 – Click on the user account you wish to switch to.

From the Start Screen

1 – Click on the active User Name in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

2 – Click Sign out.

3 – Click on the user account you wish to switch to.

From the Desktop

1 – Right-click the Start button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.

2 – Hover you mouse pointer over Shut down or sign out.

3 -Click Sign out.

4 – Click on the user account you wish to switch to.

Beelink SER3 Mini PC with W11 Pro

I’ve been using mini PCs exclusively in my office for over three years and I doubt if I will ever go back to a full-size or mid-size desktop computer.

The power and capabilities they pack into these things is nothing less than astounding. In a nutshell, you get full desktop power in a machine that’s about the size of a brick.

This little gem from Beelink is an exceptional value for the money in my humble opinion. It comes with an AMD Ryzen 3 3200U CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM and a super-fast 500GB NVME SSD. The Windows 11 Pro is a nice bonus as well.
