Back in the early days of home computing, most users had to connect their computers to the Internet using a dial-up analog modem.

Those dial-up connections were typically about as slow as a sedated slug, and establishing and keeping a stable connection was tricky at best.

Scam alert: Beware the dangerous ‘Hacked Account’ email scam

How to report a fake (clone) Facebook profile

If you’ve been using Facebook for more than ten minutes you’re probably aware that scammers are constantly cloning folks’ profiles to create new fake accounts in their names.

They then send friend requests from the fake account to everyone that’s on the real account’s Friends List.

After several people have accepted the fraudulent friend requests the scammer will then use the fake account to target those “friends” with all manner of scams and hoaxes.

Q&A: Can you recommend a good full-size Bluetooth mouse?

Question from Kenny:  I have an Ultrabook that only has two USB ports, and I need those for my external hard drive and portable scanner.

I’ve been looking for a good Bluetooth mouse since they don’t need to be plugged into a USB port.

I’ve tried three different Bluetooth mice and found all of them to be too small to be comfortably used for extended periods of time.

I just can’t seem to find one that’s normal size. Do you know of one?  [Read more…]
